Dress Code

HAIR

ALL students are required to have their hair secured away from the face. Ballet students must have their hair pulled back in a neat bun, secured with a hairnet. Short hair must be fastened away from the face. All other dance and performing arts students must have long hair up in a ponytail.

JEWELRY

No necklaces, watches, rings, bracelets, or long earrings may be worn in class. Only small stud type earrings may be worn.

NO OUTSIDE CLOTHING

  • Absolutely no outer t-shirts, sweats, or shorts are to be worn in class
  • Jeans are never permitted as classroom attire DRESS FOR BALLET CLASSES GIRLS
  • Any color leotard
  • Pink footed tights or convertible tights worn over the foot
  • Pink ballet slipper or pointe shoe where applicable
  • Skirts with teacher’s permission only

BOYS

  • T-shirt: Solid White
  • Pant: Black…all black shorts, leggings, jazz pants…all pants must have stretch
  • Shoes: Black ballet slippers
  • Socks: White

Dance belts are required beginning at age 12

DRESS FOR BALLET CLASSES

GIRLS

  • Any color leotard
  • Pink footed tights or convertible tights worn over the foot
  • Pink ballet slipper or pointe shoe where applicable
  • Skirts with teacher’s permission only

DRESS FOR JAZZ, TAP, HIP HOP & PERFORMING ARTS CLASSES

Same as for ballet, but girls add Black jazz pants or cotton shorts. Shoes to be Black jazz shoes, tap shoes, or dance sneakers, as appropriate for the class.

DRESS FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD CLASSES (CREATIVE MOVEMENT, BALLET 6)

GIRLS

  • Any color leotard
  • Footed tights
  • Ballet slippers or bare feet (NO SOCKS)
  • Hair should be away from face
  • Skirts with teacher’s permission only

BOYS

  • T-shirt: Solid White
  • Pant: Black…all black shorts, leggings, jazz pants, black sweat pants…all pants must have stretch
  • Black ballet slippers or bare feet (NO SOCKS)
