Intro to Modern with Choreography
This class blends technical study with improvisation and choreographic study. Dancers will learn techniques for creating original works and create a piece for the Spring Show.
Dress Code: Appropriate dance clothing, bare feet, hair pulled back.
Intermediate
Intermediate Modern is a technique class for dancers with 1 or more years of previous ballet, jazz or modern experience. This class focuses on safe and fluid floor work through emphasis on body half, head - tail connection, spiral, and use of weight. Using a blend of principals from Pilates, Gyrokinesis and release technique, this class builds physical strength by connecting to the emotional core of dance. A warm up that covers the back is recommended for warm-up, and class is usually done in bare feet. Additional performance opportunities are available as a training tool for enrolled students.
Advanced
