Class Notes for Scottish Highland Classes

This web page contains information for the two Scottish Highland Dance classes (3:15 and 3:45 on Wednesdays). <class description>

August

August 29, 2007 : Notes from Marion

Dress for class

I would like to encourage the children to wear hair up off their faces.  I would like to see leotards rather than skirts resembling the kilt. I do a lot of stretching and hands on in the early stages, skirts get in the way!  For shoes, black flat dance shoes or ghillies. I do not expect parents to buy ghillies so early in the year as the kids are likely to grow out of them by the recital.  However, if they have them, then I would like to see them.

If students would like a copy of the recital music, then they should bring a blank CD to class.

Recital

The picture at right shows the dress for recital.  We will be wearing white blouses/shirts, kilts, white knee socks, and black ghillies.  We will post information in the future about purchasing ghiliies and the kilts.
