Monthly Tuition
Tuition is based on a month time increment. The regular school year consists of the months September through May. The tuition amount is constant for these 9 months of the year. The monthly tuition amount is based on the total class hours per week that a family is enrolled in. Male student hours that are “under scholarship” do not count towards a family total. The current rates are shown below.
Tuition Payments
Statements are emailed on the 1st of every month. Payments not received by the 10th of the month are subject to a $15 late fee. Tuition payments may be mailed to DALA or dropped off at either studio.
Refunds All tuition payments are nonrefundable once the class week has begun. Refunds will be effective the following class week.
Dropping Classes
A class may be dropped by contacting the DALA Office. The class drop will be effective the following week that notice was received. See “refunds” regarding tuition.
Registration Fee An annual non-refundable registration fee of $25 is due at the time of registration for all students. A maximum of $50 in registration fees will be assessed per family. This fee will not be prorated through the school year.
Male Tuition
Male students studying ballet are eligible for a tuition scholarship. The scholarship applies to the ballet class(es) and any other dance classes during the regular fall and spring semesters. Summer intensives and other special workshops or classes are not included in this scholarship. Scholarships do not apply to performance, registration or costume fees. To maintain the scholarship, the student must fully participate in his classes with no more than one unexcused absence and two total absences per month. School activities and other special conflicts may be excused, but the instructor must be informed prior to the absence. In case of illness or last minute conflict, the studio should be notified as soon as possible, preferably before class time. **Boys who are not enrolled in ballet classes are responsible for all tuition at the published rate.**
Performance Fees Students participating in productions of The Nutcracker or Spring Recitals are responsible for paying a performance fee. The fee will be assessed as follows:
- The Nutcracker - $150 due at the audition held on Aug 27 at the Duane Smith Auditorium
- Nuts, Crackers and Sweets - $75 due by December 1
- Spring Recital - $75-225 depending on number of dances and level due on May 1.
Drop In Fees
Students that are 18 years of age or older and are not attending high school may attend classes on a “drop in” basis. Drop in status requires prior registration through the studio online registration system. Regular registration fees apply to drop in classes. |
